Slashrecs by xen

For various reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, I haven't been keeping up with this recs page. However, I have been reading a story that is being posted in chapters to a slash list I'm on, and I've gotten completely hooked. I generally run screaming from kid fic of any kind, thanks to beaucoups of sappy crappy kid fic in TS fandom, but this is a BtVS/AtS crossover, and it is just too much fun to resist. It's called Small Fry and the sequel is Son of Small Fry written by James Walkswithwind and The Mad Poetess. You can find it at the Wesley/Gunn archive.

I'm going to sort through all the DS fic I've read lately and try to get some more recs up here soon. If nothing else, go read Chicago's Most Wanted by Speranza. It poses the question what would happen if Ben become a master criminal, and what could possibly drive him to it?

Ahhh, much better. I couldn't see that dark layout very well on a couple of different monitors I tested it on, even though it looked utterly beautiful on my monitor.

Go read Kat's newest story Heavy Bag and Resonant's A Modest Proposel if you haven't already.

A ton of new stories have been posted in the DS fandom this week. Resonant's A Fine and Private Place, Kellie Matthews' Thermoform, Skin Hungry by Brighid, and Beth H's Internal Affairs are all worth checking out.

Speranza has written a new Due South story called Scrabble, and it is a masterpiece. The formatting is way different than any fanfic I've ever read before, and will take a little getting used to at first, but believe me it is worth it. You get to climb inside the head of both Fraser and Kowalski, simultaneously, and the results are simply stunning. Dead on characterizations, perfect voices, both inner and dialogue, and one of the hottest kisses I've ever, ever read. In fact, this Fraser is so dead on, it's a little scary. There are moments I would almost swear that Speranza is channeling Fraser and merely dictating his words.

There isn't very much Twitch City slash out there, but I did find some goodies. I Lost My Limbs But Not My Lover by Viridian5 continues the competion started in the episode "I'm Fat and I'm Proud" to it's inevitable conclusion. And there are several stories filling in the missing hours in the episode "Shinto Death Cults" written by Lori J and Amy B. I wish there were more, but hey, I'll take a naked Newbie any way I can get him.

Amy B has also written some DaVinci's Inquest slash, which is interesting. I've only seen one episode, but I'm looking forward to seeing the rest before I read these stories. Good incentive to find those episode, eh?

It's been way too long since I rec'd anything, but I've just been busy. But here's a couple of quickies. Speranza has written a couple of new stories, which are just fabulous, Merry Go Round which has a scorching hot sex scene that left me a big pile of squidgy goo, and a Post COTW story Enduring Distance which fills in the blank between the capture of Muldoon and the guys leaving on their quest.

Okay, the archives are finally working correctly, all the old links have been moved over and the entire site has been reformatted. Thank Joss, I'm finally done messing with this thing.
