The Thing by Lex
(The Sentinel: Jim/Blair)

Blair gets into a sticky situation when he gets stuck babysitting an artifact for a friend. This story is hysterical, and one I can read over and over again.

Anoint and Midnight Oil by Resonant
(The Sentinel: Jim/Blair)

I really enjoyed this first time story, but I have to say the 2nd time sequal (Midnight Oil) is waaay hotter! Midnight Oil made me slip right out of my chair THUD, right on the floor. (All of Resonants stories are great, so read them all while your there.) The only thing I don't like about these two stories are the backgrounds. Ouch, hard to read.

By the Book by Lanning Cook
(The Sentinel: Jim/Blair)

This PWP is a fun one! PWP is not ususally one of my favorite kinds of fic, but who can resist Jim Ellison giggling hysterically over his fly?

Cryptic Encounter by Rusalka
(BtVS crossover with Hercules: TLJ)

Spike needs help from Ares God of War to get that damned chip out of his head. This was a lot of fun, I don't read much Ares fic anymore, but I used to. This story manages good characterizations of both characters, which can't be easy.

Sands of Time series
(Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

This is a new series, only 2 parts up so far, but wow, those two parts are powerful stuff. Much, MUCH Xander angst here, and oh doesn't he just hurt so beautifully? This series is by James Walkswithwind and Wolfling. Don't miss this.

Heaven Can Wait by Sabrina Cross
(Good vs Evil)

God, I miss this show. It had all the makings of a wonderfully slashy buddy hurt/comfort kind of show. And talk about two gorgeous guys...sigh. Of course it got cancelled. But the guys live on in slash, and this story is one I can read again and again.

Henry scowled at him. "Look here, man," he snapped in sudden annoyance. "I'm not Batman. You're not Robin. You're my partner, okay?"

"I could be Robin," Chandler said after a moment of sheepish silence, during which Henry sipped some more. "I look great in tights, H."

Makes me want to bust out my G vs E tapes.

The Reluctant Patient by Bone
(The Sentinel: Jim/Blair)

This was published previously in a zine, so I haven't read it before, and its Bone! A hysterical, first-time by Bone! Jim is just too funny in this, I think this is my new favorite story now.

Mutual Orbit by Kass
(The Sentinel: Jim/Blair)

A perfect post-TSBS first-time by Kass from Jim's point of view. Yummy, go read it now. I love Kass's Jim in this story, he's so guilty and quirky, and sweet and almost clueless.

Outside Influences by Candy Apple
(The Sentinel: Jim/Blair)

In honor of the return of Starsky and Hutch to cable television, I'm recommending this gooey sweet, h/c epic crossover by Candy Apple. It's long (10 parts!) and romantic, and everything you need in a J/B story. And hey, I get to add Starsky and Hutch to my list of fandoms I've read! <g>

Pink Rabbit Subtext Zone
(Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Buffy/Faith)

Go to the BtVS hotlink (opens in a new window) and find "WAKING TO A SHARED DREAM" by Liz Estrada. Buffy/Faith. Beautiful prose, sweetly sexy, and good tie ins with the episodes I just so happened to have watched last night for the first time. I don't get the WB, so I am waaaay behind on my Buffy...

The Rules of Attraction by Spiderine
(The Sentinel: Jim/Blair)

I've been looking for a story like this for a long time now: Primitive Blair in the jungle, undergoing his initiation as a shaman. I enjoyed this time with Jungle Jim, Blair of the jungle and the Chopec. And we find out lots of information about Jim's first time in Peru when his men died. It's angsty, it's funny, it's sexy, it's horrifying, it's violent and it's sweet. What else could you possibly want? It's also 9 parts long, so be ready for the long haul.

Nurse Blair by Alyjude
(The Sentinel: Jim/Blair)

Need to get that angsty taste out of your mouth after Homeward Bound? Try this sweet little first time story, also by Alyjude. Hell, search the archives and read all of her stories. yum

Homeward Bound by Alyjude
(The Sentinel: Jim/Blair)

OK, so I'm having a really crappy day, and felt like having a good hard cry. This did it for me. This is a three hanky story, but never fear, things end on an up-note. All this and a new daddy for Blair!

Hot Sky Blue
(The Sentinel: Jim/Blair)

This story is so incredibly hot I start sweating just thinking about it. It's a steamy look inside Blair's fantasy about Jim during a hot basketball game. I love a dominant Jim taking his little guppy, but if that doesn't work for you, you may not like this one. It works for me though, whew! The imagery is just beautiful, and the sex is mind blowing.

B.J. Sandburg
(The Sentinel: Jim/Blair)

This story is not one I would normally even consider reading, but there is an exception to every rule, right? In this long (35 parts!) story, Blair turns into a woman for a year, and yes, pregnancy becomes an issue. But this isn't a squick-fest. I personally do not like male pregnancy stories, or switching gender stories. Kinda defeats the purpose of reading about men, doesn't it? But somehow Gillian makes this story work for me. Jim never, ever forgets that it is Blair he is with, and the chemistry between them just gets hotter and hotter. I read this entire thing in one sitting the first time, and I'm re-reading it again now. Don't ask me how Gillian has accomplished the impossible, find out for yourself. Yum.

Not Exactly Funny by Helen
(The Sentinel: Jim/Blair)

Helen certainly gets the job done, no kidding. This story stuck with me for days. After a traumatic fall, the boys get an unusual case of amnesia: they remember everything except each other. And, wow, wait till you see what happens! I love the way Helen writes Blair, he's feisty and stubborn, and perfectly Blair. Go read it, and everything else on her page, it's all fabulous, especially Restitution.

Permanent Record
(The Sentinel: Jim/Blair)

I can't think of anything much more thrilling then finding a new story up on Francesca's page. The woman cannot write a bad story, that's all there is to it. Her Jim and Blair are guys, and Pet Fly only wishes their writer's could come up with dialogue this good. And Permanent Record is one of her best yet. It shows us a relationship starting early in the series, and it works. Lots of writers try to write top!Blair, but Francesca actually did it, and believe me, it's panty melting hot. Not only that, but we get some very interesting insight on Blair's days before he met Jim. I can read this story over and over again. So go read it, and everything else on her page

A Matter of Taste by Brighid
(The Sentinel: Jim/Blair)

OK, I've thought long and hard about what my first rec should be, and finally decided on this hot little first time story by Brighid. The guys are completely in character, and she switches between Jim's and Blair's point of view seamlessly, which I love. It's funny, and incredibly sexy. Here's a taste:

I pop my Coke and settle in next to him, reaching for the popcorn. "So, what are we watching?"

He glances at me sideways, and moves the popcorn bowl to the other side of himself, away from me. I shrug, reach over him easily and snag a handful. Height and reach are two of the few advantages I have over the guy, and I'm not averse to using them from time to time. If I didn't, I suspect he'd run circles around me. "We're watching 'Last Tango in Paris'," he says, smacking half-heartedly at my hand, but he's smiling, too.

So go read it, and while you're at it, search 852 Prospect for everything Brighid's written, you won't be sorry.
